Chinese police pull a live baby from a shallow grave



Chinese police found a newborn baby alive in a shallow grave. The baby was buried alive in a cardboard box. The baby boy’s grandmothers were arrested for planning the boy’s murder.

A women collecting herbs near a hillside graveyard heard the sound of crying. It was then that she rushed to get help and the rescue operation began.

The rescuers found a baby boy a few centimeters below the surface. He had been buried loosely enough for air and water to reach the box.

The baby was taken to the hospital where he was throwing up mud.


A total of five people were arrested for the attempted murder – three of which are relatives of the baby boy.

Kabul Hotel attack leaves at least one dead



Men burst into Park Palace hotel armed with AK-47 rifles during a celebration. Many foreign nationals were in attendance of the celebration.

At least one American was killed after the gunmen stormed a Kabul guesthouse. The celebration consisted of a gathering of Afghan and foreign nationals on Wednesday night.

There were three armed gunmen that made their way into the hotel after 8 pm. The attack happened during a celebration featuring a musical performance by Altaf Hussein, the Indian singer.


Security forces advanced with great caution to avoid civilian losses, according to a source close to the crisis response unit.

Karachi bus attack kills dozens



In Karachi, Pakistan, gunmen on motorcycles open fire and board a vehicle.

The gunmen killed dozens of people on Tuesday after forcing their way onto a bus. The bus was said to be carrying members of a minority Islamic sector.

The men arrived on three motorbikes. They shot at the bus using automatic weapons as the bus was traveling through the city.

As the bus came to a stop, the gunmen boarded the vehicle. It was then that they continued their killing spree against unarmed civilians.

45 people were killed at 13 were injured according to the provincial police chief.

A surviving passenger, Saleem, was rushed to the hospital. He was wounded in both his arm and leg. He said, “I saw five armed men who started targeting passengers individually, they wanted to target us because we are not Muslims according to most people in Pakistan.


US Congress rejects NSA collection of phone records – vote to reform spy agency

The US House of Representatives vote to ban a mass collection of American Phone Records. This is due to the fact that they vote in favor of the USA Freedom Act.

The House of Representatives were out to reform the National Security Agency program .

Two years after NSA revealed the “bulk collection” program, the votes were in favor of the USA Freedom Act. The House of Representatives voted 338 – 88 in favor of the act.



This marks the second time that the House voted for a different system.

Reformers are more confident in convincing the Senate to support the Freedom Act.

The Judiciary Chair, Bob Goodlatte, said, “America’s liberty and America’s security can coexist”.

Torture a maintained routine in Chinese Prisions

Torture is still a routine activity practiced in Chinese prisons. The police have regulations to exclude evidence and confessions of the torture acts.

Relatives of the detainees said that abuse included prisoners being electrocuted and beaten with batons. Prisoners are also deprived of sleep and spend hours shackled and hung from their wrists.



It has been said that some prisoners were also sprayed with chili oil on sensitive areas. They were also starved and frozen.

Human Rights Watch has interviewed families of those that died while imprisoned. To hide the cause of the deaths, the police said that every death that happened to the detainees were due to natural causes. This goes against the evidence of mistreatment.

In the attempts to view full videos of the detained, relatives were blocked.


A northern Heilongjiang police officer said, “Torture to extract confession has become an unspoken rule, it is very common.”

North Korean Defense Minister Executed

Hyon Yon Chol, the North Korean defense chief was executed on treason charges.



He was purged and then executed by a firing squad. They used an antiaircraft gun to demolish the man. The execution was also watched by hundreds of people.

Hyon was said to have shown disrespect to Kim Jong-Un by falling asleep at a military event.

Hyon was a general that was promoted in 2012 to the rank of Vice Marshal of the North Korean Army.

The execution was mentioned by a South Korean spy agency. They also said that last month Kim ordered 15 senior officials to be executed as punishment for challenging his authority.
