Hyon Yon Chol, the North Korean defense chief was executed
on treason charges.
He was purged and then executed by a firing squad. They used
an antiaircraft gun to demolish the man. The execution was also watched by hundreds
of people.
Hyon was said to have shown disrespect to Kim Jong-Un by
falling asleep at a military event.
Hyon was a general that was promoted in 2012 to the rank of
Vice Marshal of the North Korean Army.
The execution was mentioned by a South Korean spy agency. They
also said that last month Kim ordered 15 senior officials to be executed as
punishment for challenging his authority.
