US Congress rejects NSA collection of phone records – vote to reform spy agency

The US House of Representatives vote to ban a mass collection of American Phone Records. This is due to the fact that they vote in favor of the USA Freedom Act.

The House of Representatives were out to reform the National Security Agency program .

Two years after NSA revealed the “bulk collection” program, the votes were in favor of the USA Freedom Act. The House of Representatives voted 338 – 88 in favor of the act.

This marks the second time that the House voted for a different system.

Reformers are more confident in convincing the Senate to support the Freedom Act.

The Judiciary Chair, Bob Goodlatte, said, “America’s liberty and America’s security can coexist”.
